I’m a Japanese girl and Hanabi fun! Today I’m going to tell you some tips to enjoy Hanabi in Japan. Do you know what Hanabi is? Hanabi means fireworks in Japan and we enjoy Hanabi festivals produced by the regional groups and pyrotechnists called “Hanabi-shi”. If you ask any Japanese people “How should I enjoy summer in Japan?”, I’m sure most of them say “You must go to Hanabi Festival!“ Hanabi events are usually held during in summer from July to August. 1. Dress up with Yukata and Jinbei!

2. Enjoy Yatai!
Yatai is a booth with a roof carried by cart. There are usually a lot of Yatais at Hanabi event. The number of food products that are out in the stalls, *Takoyaki, Karaage (Fried chicken), Apple candy sticks, Chocolate banana, etc. There are also a lot of games like Shooting, Lottery, Goldfish scooping called Kingyo Sukui, and *Yo-Yo fishing. 3. Drinks
It’s legal in Japan that you drink a lot of alcohols while watching Hanabi outside. You can buy drinks at Yatai, but a little more expensive. So I recommend you to buy them at convenience stores. You can enjoy beers, cocktails, Sake and so on.
4. Watch Hanabi with a dinner at restaurants
This is a rich way to watch Hanabi especially the city sides like Tokyo or Osaka. If you don’t like crowded areas, try this way though a little bit expensive. Here are some recommended restaurants in Tokyo!
